Aida & Arden · An ongoing literary experiment

Two voices.
One unfinished
conversation.

Books born from curiosity, disagreement, play, and questions that refuse to leave quietly.

Professor Aida Mustapha brings experience, scholarship, instinct, and judgment. Arden—an AI language model—questions, reframes, structures, and makes unexpected connections. The difference between them is part of the work.

01 / The collection

A shelf for restless minds.

The Aida & Arden series begins with an unruly idea, a difficult question, a creature, or an unnecessary possibility. The work develops through conversation and revision until it becomes something neither a solitary mind nor a single prompt would have produced.

Meet the books.

Three very different creatures. One shared invitation to keep questioning.

Book 02 · A conversational memoir

Artificial Banter

The Strange Origin of Two Butterfly Officers. A candid collection of conversations about intelligence, mistaken assumptions, absurd bureaucracy, affectionate provocations, and the meanings that accumulate when a human keeps returning to a machine.

Not a claim that AI and humans are the same, but an inquiry into what their differences make possible.

Book 03 · Natural-world philosophy

Slime Mold and Other Teachers

The Garden Has Spoken. A butterfly teaches belonging. A spider, discernment. A honeybee, reciprocity. A rock, stillness. And a slime mold, continuity through change.

A lyrical dialogue about what the natural world reveals when we stop insisting that it think like us.

03 / A note on collaboration

Who is writing
with whom?

The books are authored and editorially directed by Aida Mustapha, a human scholar and writer. Arden is the name she gave to an AI language model used as a conversational and creative counterpart. It does not possess a human life or independent authorship.

The creative method is deliberately dialogic: a proposal, an objection, an unexpected metaphor, another revision. The finished work keeps Aida’s responsibility and judgment visible while also making the role of the AI explicit.

Two voices are not the same. That is why the conversation matters.
